Steroids are used in the treatment of acute attacks of Multiple sclerosis(MS). These medications help in the recovery from acute attack. In some cases which are resistant to steroids, plasma exchange and Intravenous Immunoglobulin are used in the acute attack treatment. There are medications to also alter the progression of MS. These are oral medications which are very convenient, injectable medications that can be given intermittently for aggressive MS.
