Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease. In this
condition, the immune system mistakenly attacks the healthy nerve cells. It is
seen commonly in women in their middle age. The symptoms, severity and duration
can vary from person to person. The attacks may be mild in some patients. In
some others, the attacks may be very severe and disabling.
